| President's Message March brings us to a time of renewal and rebirth in most of the areas of the country. Springs blooms start to appear, and the winter cold begins to melt. Here, in gorgeous south Florida, we are blessed with great weather year round, but we still see signs of the trees blooming. As mother nature signals renewal, why don't we, collectively, as a membership, renew our commitment to BWA? Reach out to a prospective new member and invite her to our March meeting to hear from our past scholarship recipients. What a wonderful way to showcase what BWA is all about!

Meeting Information Where are they now? Scholarship Recipients update - 2017 Twenty-five
hopeful women scholars applied for financial assistance in 2016. From
those 25 the Scholarship Committee chose seven outstanding recipients.
During our March meeting, they will update BWA members on what they have
accomplished this past year and will invite your questions on the
scholarship process. Just to
give you some background, our seven came into the scholarship program
with an average GPA of 3.85, and three with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Three
attend Nova Southeastern University, three attend Florida Atlantic
University and one attends Keiser University. One is studying
marine biology; two are psychology majors, two are studying information
technology, one is a multi-media journalism major, and one is studying
pharmacology. All are degree-seeking students. Four of the
successful candidates received financial support from BWA last year, and
two will graduate this year. I
think you will agree that this outstanding group of women deserve the
generous support you have so graciously provided, and that you will
enjoy hearing from them directly.

Member Spotlight
Pam Moskowitz is the VP of Business Development at Allied Kitchen and Bath in Fort Lauderdale. Pam has been with Allied Kitchen and Bath for 18 years and her motto is “Do what you Love and Love what you Do”. She is proud to be a member of BWA, a wonderful group of kind hearted business women. At Allied, Pam oversees the marketing, and in addition, plans and co-hosts the events at Allied that support the non-profits as well as the design trade. “We fully underwrite the events and it allows the charity to raise funds and take 100% back to the people in need that they serve, it’s very rewarding” says Pam. For the last 10 years, Allied has helped raise thousands of dollars for the community. Allied Kitchen and Bath is celebrating its 33rd year and is family owned by the Feinberg Family. Allied is a complete remodeling and design firm offering exquisite products and services for your Kitchen, Bath and Home. Pam enjoys networking, promoting Allied and participating at trade organizations and charities. Some of the charities include the Boys and Girls Club, Deliver the Dream, Lifenet for Families and Jafco. The Trade organizations include the American Society of Interior Design, (ASID), the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), National Women in Construction (NAWIC) and the International Furnishing and Design Association (IFDA). Recently Pam attended the National Kitchen and Bath and International Builder Show in Orlando and caught up with the latest trends in the industry. Home Décor is her passion and she has been in the industry her whole career starting as an assistant buyer for Allied Stores, a department store chain in New York City. What a coincidence - from one Allied to another! Pam is married to Herman Moskowitz, a CPA in Private Practice and she enjoys traveling, fashion shows, Broadway and giving back to the community. |

My
name is Lindsay Rubio and I received my Bachelor's of Arts in Russian
and Post-Soviet Studies from the College of William and Mary in 2010. I
relocated to South Florida 6 years ago to pursue a career in business. I
started with Chipotle Mexican Grill 4 years ago as a part-time employee
and am now a Restaurateur that oversees two locations. I
am working towards the position of Area Manager with the Company. I
enjoy helping out in the community, mentoring our youth and, lots
of Yoga and meditation.
