November 2015

Welcome

President’s Message

Ladies,

It is that time of the year when we take the time to give and say THANKS. Thanksgiving is the time of the year when we have the opportunity to be grateful for family and friends. And yet with Thanksgiving we also have the opportunity to be of service in a number of ways to those less fortunate in our community.

As a fellow BWA member, I say thank you to each and every one of you for wanting to make a difference and making that difference in the lives of women who seek through finishing their education or returning to college to better their lives and the life of their families.

As members of BWA and the renewal of your membership, you confirm your commitment to the empowerment of women and the creating of dynamic women leaders who give back to the community while building a legacy in Broward County. Your membership in BWA and your regular donation along with participation in our monthly luncheons, networking activities, and other social as well fundraising activities allow us to touch the lives of so many women who are in need of a little assistance to fulfill on their dreams.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GENEROSITY TO THE scholarship fund and for being members of BWA. We know that we are who we are through all of you. I am honored to be among such Great Women and look forward to working with you all for a successful year.

To all who have yet to RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP, I request that you RENEW and embark on this journey with us to make a difference in the Lives of Women in a small yet powerful way.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING BWA SISTERS!!

Lorna Brown-Burton,

BWA President 2015-2016

Change is Hard!

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” Socrates

We encourage you to renew your membership before 11/15/2015. Please accept our apologies for any difficulty there may be with the new website. We are working to fix them as quickly as possible (and just so you know, the newsletter editor is having them as well-just trying to focus my energy).

If you have tried to renew and had difficulty, please bring your check or credit card to the meeting on November 9. Debbie will be happy to assist and we do apologize for any inconvenience. For those who use American Express, we are working to address that matter as well.

Next meeting is at Bistro Mezzaluna on November 9. The address is 1821 SE 10 Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. It’s just off 17 Street, and has great food and free and easy parking. Please register online and if you have difficulty, contact Debbi Hartman at 954-483-3060 or at browardwomensalliance@gmail.com. Register by November 5.

We will be sending out a survey to get your input on the luncheon location. Please help us by completing the survey. The location may change in Januay, depending on your input.

We will be collectiing raffle items for the December meeting. You will receive a form by email in the near future.
